Who we are
Life Line Africa began as a grassroots initiative in the Kilimanjaro Region and was officially registered as a non-profit organization in October 2022.
We work with children, youth, parents, caregivers, families, educators, health professionals, community leaders, donors, volunteers and local institutions. Our programmes promote opportunities for early learning, good health, adequate nutrition, security and safety, and responsive caregiving — alongside talent development, youth mentorship, parenting skills, child protection, gender equality and equity, career education, social-emotional skills, business thinking and innovation.
Our motto is simple: Inspire lifelong learning.

Five pillars around every child
Each pillar addresses one part of the environment a child grows up in. Together they form a single approach to child development.
- 01Opportunities for Early LearningHelping parents and caregivers understand how children learn from birth, and advocating for quality early-learning spaces in the community.
- 02Good HealthCommunity health education and linkage to local services, with particular attention to children under five.
- 03Adequate NutritionNutrition education for pregnancy and early childhood, plus community kitchen gardens and appropriate referral.
- 04Security and SafetyChild protection training, safer homes and play environments, children's rights and community safeguarding structures.
- 05Responsive CaregivingHelping caregivers observe, understand and respond to children's needs and emotions with consistency and warmth.

The whole-child approach
A child does not develop in isolation
Learning, health, nutrition, safety and emotional care are connected. A child who is well fed but unsafe, or safe but never spoken to, is still missing something essential. So we work on the whole environment: the caregiver's knowledge, the household's capacity, the community's protective structures and the local services a family can reach.
This is why our programmes are delivered with communities rather than to them, and why we work through parents, caregivers, educators, health professionals, community leaders and local institutions.
Parents and caregivers
Parents and caregivers are the first and most consistent teachers a child ever has. Our work equips them — with knowledge, skills and support — to give appropriate early childhood care, education, protection and responsive attention.
To teach and equip parents, caregivers and communities to provide appropriate early childhood care, education, protection and responsive support.
